Set above the Serangoon skyline, this balcony was designed to feel like a private pause button, minimal, calming, and intentionally composed. With the view as the “borrowed scenery,” our approach was to soften the space with greenery and stonework while keeping the overall silhouette clean and uncluttered.
At the heart of the balcony is a sculptural, cloud-pruned feature tree, placed to be enjoyed from both indoors and outdoors. Around it, a soft carpet of moss-like groundcover creates a gentle visual base, contrasting against a bed of dark gravel that adds depth and definition without overwhelming the narrow footprint.

To invite movement through the space, we introduced a stepping-stone trail, large, natural-toned slabs that create rhythm and direction while maintaining a light, floating feel. At the far end, a stone composition with curated boulders forms a simple focal moment, quietly framing the corner and completing the “mini courtyard” atmosphere.
Project highlights
- Style feature tree as the primary anchor and indoor-facing focal point
- Layered textures: dark gravel, soft green groundcover, and natural stone
- Stepping stones to create pacing and a sense of journey in a compact layout
- Rock grouping as a secondary focal feature for balance and finish
The final result is a balcony that reads like a small Zen garden, within a home, structured, calming, and easy to live with, while still celebrating the openness and view that makes high-rise living special.
